Operations Manager - Power Station
An Excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager based in Lincolnshire responsible for the management of Shift Team Leaders, Operations Technicians and Operations Support Engineer to best effect to achieve safety, generation and environmental performance of the power station. -Responsible for site Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) systems, training and awareness including the plane HSE forum -Preparation and administration of operational budgets with a view to control station-operating costs -Provide technical advice and back up during critical operating conditions -Liase with the Maintenance Manager to ensure co-ordinated effort and promote good communications -Liase with the Commercial Operations to ensure economical plant dispatch and promote good communications -Assist Plant Manager as required and report plant performance and malfunctions -Producing a monthly report on the main activities, issues and plans for the Operations department. This report should also make reference to HSE, staff issues, forced and planned outages, budgets, plant performance and projects -Participation in projects and initiatives as delegated by the Plant Manager Job Qualifications: Attributes that will lead to success: Knowledge and experience of power generation process, permit and safety systems, HV switching and switchgear, steam cycle chemistry, performance monitoring, reading technical drawings, computers and computer applications. Knowledge and experience of health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance notes. Knowledge and experience of environmental legislation, systems, monitoring, recording and notification procedures. Requires very good interpersonal skills for motivation, communicating and dealing with diffiult issues in house and with other company representatives. Experience 10 years in power generation industry with at least 5 years CCGT experience. 5 years experience to have been gained in a senior supervisory or management position. Very good working knowledge of HSE legislation and issues as they apply to a power plant. Any plan mobilisation experience would be an advantage in terms of recruitment, training, set up of operation and HSE procedures and systems, dealings with Turnket Contractor and project commercial contracts
