Job Title : MORGAN HUNT: Estimator - Rail

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within one of the leading providers of rail infrastructure services, for an Estimator within the Estimating and Tendering department. This role will be responsible for the production of a range of Estimates, in addition to continuous improvement of the estimating function within the business. The business provides total solutions in all aspects of railway infrastructure, from high speed rail systems to light and urban rail-presenting a diverse and challenging opportunity to the successful applicant. The Estimator will be responsible for the timely production of Estimates for the business. The role requires an individual looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on a developing business, and play a key role in the successful winning of work, and will report directly into the Head of Tendering. In order to apply for the role of Estimator you will have a strong understanding of engineering and construction, and will be able to demonstrate success in a high value construction industry. Ideally, you will hold formal recognition as an Engineer, Quantity Surveyor or be a numerate graduate or equivalent in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate rail industry experience. However, our client would also be interested in applicants from Estimators experienced in Civils or Construction, such as minor road and highways projects, embankments and retaining walls. The successful Estimator could also come from a mechanical/electrical building services background. The Estimator will also have previous experience of developing estimates and documentation for tenders, and will have significant experience with benchmarking and business cost comparison within a contracting industry.
