Job Title : METZGER: Depot General Manager

Depot General Manager £40 - 45,000 plus car, bonus (40%) and benefits Gloucester Our client is a leading logistics business with an extensive network reaching all corners of the UK. With a turnover fast approaching £400m, an impressive portfolio of prestigious clients and ambitious growth plans for the future, they are seeking to recruit a commercially focussed General Manager to take responsibility for both the commercial and operational development of the site. The client is keen to consider the best individuals across any business to business service sector, for example, facilities management, express parcels, freight forwarding, logistics, waste management, catering and cleaning sectors. Your transferable skill set must include significant Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility and excellent commercial/development skills. You will also be a strong manager and motivator of operational teams. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will be fully accountable for the performance of the operation and sales function, whilst ensuring customer requirements are consistently achieved. Responsibilities include the management and motivation of an established team of circa 60-80 staff. You will also support the growth of the operation through the development of both new and existing business. You will work successfully under pressure whilst liaising directly with clients and key accounts to ensure optimum profitability. Familiar with setting and working to KPIs and evidence of adding value to your current operation is essential. Experience of running a sales function or having been in a sales role is required. Our client requires a highly motivated, ambitious and tenacious individual with a strong personality to further develop their business. You will be a determined and results-orientated individual who can also provide commercial and strategic skills to ensure that P&L targets for the site are achieved and exceeded. You will have a proven track record of managing a fast paced operation and possess sound interpersonal skills to interface directly with staff and clients.
