Technical Buyer / Engineering buyer / Supply Chain Engineer / Procurement Engineer Engineering Buyer urgently required for exciting opportunity with world leading organisation who provide a variety of cost saving and maintenance support services to major manufacturing sites throughout the UK and Worldwide. This position will be based in Peterborough at a flagship customer site where they have been on site for 4 years and are responsible for managing the engineering stores, providing engineering and maintenance consultancy and managing the technical buying.This position will offer an additional service where the technical buyer will be responsible for sourcing obselete parts for machinery, critical maintenance related parts which if not aquired would cause down time on the plant and project based buying.As a technical buyer / engineering buyer / procurement engineer you will be responsible for building relationships with engineering and maintenance in order to understand their needs.This is a major manufacturing site in Peterborough and there are many areas in which you will be able to add value to the business.The role is critical to the plant efficiency and you will be asked to source a diverse range of maintenance related parts.You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers and to advise engineers on part selection as well as alternative solutions.Quite often you will be using suppliers for the first time and will have to instantly build relationships and influence them so that they prioritise your needs without being able to offer regular work.Strong interpersonal skills are essential as you will interacting with suppliers, customer engineers, senior management, internal purchasing teams and departments.This is a unique role for someone with experience of manufacturing / engineering purchasing but whowants to be able to make an impact on site efficiency s is a 'hands on' role where you will be expected to be out and around site.This is an exciting opportunity with a competitive salary and career opportunities win a multi-national company.
